ITINERARY

 


MORNING

 

9:00 AM: Your adventure begins in the morning at the designated meeting point in Augrabies. Here, you’ll meet your friendly and experienced guide who will provide a safety briefing and equip you with all the necessary gear, including life jackets, paddles, and helmets.

9:30-10:00 AM:After a quick gear check, we’ll hop in the car and drive to our put-in spot where you will get in your 2 man raft and embark on your journey down the Orange River. As you paddle, soak in the stunning scenery of the Augrabies area, characterized by lush vegetation, and a vibrant desert landscape.

 

11:00 AM:The excitement builds as you approach your first set of rapids. Your guides will expertly navigate you through these thrilling sections, providing instructions and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. Get ready to get a little wet and feel the adrenaline rush as you conquer each rapid!

 

12:00 PM: After a morning of paddling and adventure, you’ll stop for a delicious lunch break on the banks of the river. Enjoy a hearty meal prepared by your guides, surrounded by the tranquility of the natural landscape. This is a perfect opportunity to relax, refuel, and capture stunning photos of your surroundings.

 

1:00 PM: After lunch, you’ll continue your rafting journey down the river, encountering more exciting rapids and enjoying the diverse birdlife and other wildlife that call the Orange River home. Keep an eye out for eagles, fish eagles, and various other bird species. You might even spot some mammals like otters or springboks along the riverbank.


3:00 PM
: As the afternoon progresses, you’ll start making your way to the take-out point. Take this time to relax, enjoy the scenery, and reminisce about the exhilarating day you’ve had.

 

4:00-5:00 PM: We meet up with our driver and get back to the meeting point, where you can change out of your gear and share your experience with your fellow adventurers.

WHEN TO GO ORANGE RIVER RAFTING


 

Full day rafting is available year round. During the summer months temperatures can reach into 40*C. This time of year the river offers an amazing escape from the heat. In winter months daytime temperatures are still around 30*C but the nights can get cold. This leaves plenty of time during the day to splash around in the river.

 

Remember to pack sun protection during summer as well as winter and consider some warm clothes if you plan to join us for an overnight river experience.
